About.
I’m James, a photographer who started out shooting landscapes and sports. My interest in photography really took off during trips with my dad to places like Iceland, northern Scotland and Europe, where I realised how much I enjoyed capturing moments that would otherwise be forgotten. I only wish I’d discovered that sooner on earlier travels to Yosemite and the Grand Canyon — both still on my list to revisit properly.
Since then, my work has been featured by Canon UK, and I’ve travelled around Europe photographing some of the world’s best track and field athletes. One of those images became my first magazine cover, which was a big milestone for me.
My move into wedding photography happened naturally. I photographed a family friend’s wedding as a favour, enjoyed it more than I expected, and after some positive feedback decided to explore it further. Since then, some of my work has appeared in wedding magazines, and I’ve continued to build a style that feels true to me.
Outside of photography, I love travelling, good food, and finding great coffee wherever I go. I balance that with the gym and the occasional run. And yes — that’s Milo in the photo. He’s our three‑year‑old miniature Goldendoodle who’s happiest on a beach, in a stream, or anywhere he can get wet, and he’s convinced he deserves an appearance fee for every shoot.
